Solution
VK Light Solutions replaced all 896 HiBay fixtures with DLC-listed 120-watt LED HiBay units, reducing the connected lighting load from 403.2 kW to 107.5 kW. Occupancy sensors were installed throughout the facility to deliver an additional 30% runtime reduction on the new LED system, capturing savings well beyond the fixture swap alone. The combined approach — efficient fixtures paired with demand-based controls — maximized the energy reduction achievable within the existing operating schedule.
Energy Savings
The retrofit eliminated 852,634 kWh of consumption annually, representing an 81% reduction in lighting energy use at the facility's standard rate of $0.180 per kWh. That translates to $153,474 in verified annual dollar savings returned directly to the facility's operating budget. The project also avoids 724,739 pounds of CO2 emissions each year as a result of the reduced electrical demand.
Results
