Pricing & Rebates

How much does a commercial LED lighting upgrade cost?
The cost depends on the size of your facility, the number of fixtures, and the type of lighting involved. A small office or retail space may run a few thousand dollars. A large warehouse project can range anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 or more. That said, most of our clients don't pay anything close to the full price out of pocket. The majority of commercial projects in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania qualify for utility rebate programs that can significantly reduce — or in some cases nearly eliminate — the upfront cost. We provide a free site evaluation and a detailed written proposal before any work begins, so you know exactly what you're looking at before committing to anything.
How do utility rebates work, and how much can they cover?
Utility companies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania run incentive programs that reimburse businesses for switching to energy-efficient LED lighting. Once a project is submitted and approved, the utility pays a set dollar amount per fixture installed. In strong rebate programs, that reimbursement can cover up to 99% of the total project cost. In the best cases we have seen, clients paid as little as $1 per fixture after rebates were applied. The exact payout depends on the utility provider, the specific program in effect at the time, and the fixtures being installed. We handle the entire rebate process on your behalf — identifying eligible programs, calculating expected reimbursements, preparing the application, and submitting everything. You don't have to deal with any of the paperwork.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We offer free on-site visits and energy evaluations with no obligation to move forward. One of our team members visits your facility, walks through the space, assesses the existing lighting system, and takes measurements. From that visit, we put together a detailed proposal that covers the scope of work, product specifications, projected energy savings, available rebates, and total cost. There is no pressure and no commitment required on your part. We want you to have all the information you need to make the right decision for your business.
Do you handle utility rebate paperwork?
Yes. We handle the entire rebate process, including paperwork, applications, utility coordination, and required documentation from start to finish. As an experienced LED lighting contractor working with every major utility rebate program across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, we identify eligible incentives, calculate the expected reimbursement, file pre-approval, and submit all post-install verification — so the rebate actually lands in your accounting.

Installation

Who orders and delivers the lighting fixtures?
We handle everything from sourcing to delivery. VK Light Solutions manages the entire supply chain — selecting the right fixtures for your application, placing the order, coordinating logistics, and delivering materials directly to your job site. You don't need to contact suppliers, manage freight shipments, or track down materials. Once the project is approved and a start date is set, we arrive with everything needed to complete the work.
How long does a commercial LED installation take?
Most installations are completed within a few days. A small office or retail space can often be finished in a single day. A mid-size warehouse with 200 to 500 fixtures typically takes two to four days. Larger industrial or multi-building projects are scheduled in phases so operations stay up and running throughout. We give you a realistic timeline after the initial site visit so you can plan around it without any surprises.
Do you have to shut down the building during installation?
No. In most cases, your building can remain fully operational during installation. Our team works in phases and schedules a commercial lighting installation around your business operations to avoid disruptions. For 24/7 facilities such as cold storage, distribution centers, and healthcare buildings, we plan the warehouse lighting upgrade in sections so there is no downtime. Evening, overnight, and weekend windows are available when you prefer the work happen outside business hours.
What happens to old fixtures and trash?
Our crew takes care of everything. We remove the old fixtures, box them up, and haul them away along with all packaging materials, cardboard, and other job site debris. When we leave, the space is clean. You don't need to arrange for a dumpster, schedule a separate cleanup crew, or do anything extra on your end. We treat the facility the same way we'd want our own space treated.
Do you provide lifts and installation equipment?
Yes. For warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing floors, and other facilities with high ceilings, we coordinate all required access equipment — scissor lifts, boom lifts, aerial work platforms. You don't need to rent or arrange anything separately. We bring what's needed to do the job safely and efficiently. Our crews are experienced working at height in active commercial and industrial environments.
Can you work in occupied offices without disrupting employees?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Our crew uses drop cloths and protective materials to cover floors, carpeting, furniture, and workstations while working overhead. We move through the space section by section, keeping each area clean before moving to the next. Many of our office projects are completed while employees are working at their desks — by the time they notice anything, we've already moved to the next row. We communicate clearly with your facilities or operations contact so nothing catches anyone off guard.
What lighting fixtures can you upgrade?
We commonly upgrade: • HiBay fixtures • 4ft strip fixtures • 8ft strip fixtures • Wallpack fixtures • Shoebox fixtures • Interior fixtures • Exterior fixtures • Warehouse lighting systems • Office lighting systems From a commercial LED retrofit on a single office to a full industrial LED lighting overhaul across a multi-building warehouse campus, our crews carry the experience and equipment to handle the full fixture mix on one job.

Energy Savings

How much can LED lighting reduce my electric bill?
In most commercial applications, LED lighting uses 50 to 70% less electricity than older technologies like metal halide, fluorescent, or high-pressure sodium. The exact reduction depends on your current fixture types, how many hours per day the lights are on, and your local electricity rate. As a simple example: replacing 400-watt metal halide fixtures with 130-watt LED high-bays saves 270 watts per fixture. In a 300-fixture warehouse running 14 hours a day, that's over $55,000 in annual savings at $0.12 per kilowatt-hour. We calculate your specific numbers during the free energy evaluation.
Do you install lighting controls, occupancy sensors, and smart systems?
Yes. Beyond replacing fixtures, we install occupancy sensors, vacancy sensors, daylight harvesting controls, and programmable smart lighting systems. These add-ons typically deliver an additional 20 to 30% in energy savings on top of the gains from the LED fixtures themselves. Controls can be set to dim or shut off automatically in unoccupied areas, adjust brightness based on available natural light, or follow scheduled on/off programs tied to your business hours. For clients interested in building automation, we can integrate the lighting controls with your existing systems.
Do LED upgrades improve lighting quality or only save energy?
LED upgrades do both. They reduce energy consumption while improving brightness, visibility, light distribution, safety, and overall lighting quality. A warehouse lighting upgrade from metal halide to modern LED high-bays delivers more usable foot-candles on the floor at a fraction of the wattage, with no warm-up time, no flicker, and a much higher color rendering index — so labels, machinery, and product damage are easier to identify in seconds rather than under guesswork.
